What I’m Reading (4.17.17)
- Review: Kendrick Lamar’s Anxiety Leads to Joy and Jabs on New Album – About halfway through the album. It’s good. Quite good. Great piece on it.
- French election: Le Pen and Macron hold rival rallies – The first vote of France’s Election is April 23 with the second round scheduled for May 7 (assuming no one >50% in R1). Marine Le Pen’s anti-immigrant/ nationalist/ anti-globalization sentiment is terrifying, and of the 11 current contenders, she is posed to make it to round 2. Approx.. 25% of voters are still undecided. Everything you need to know about the election: HERE.

N. Korea didn’t test a nuclear weapon, but it did try to launch another missile – N. Korea launched a missile over the weekend. It failed almost immediately. But, also, this: “By using solid fuel, North Korea can roll out its missiles from a hangar or tunnel ready to launch, rather than having to fuel them on a gantry like the older liquid-fueled rockets. That allows much less time for the missiles to be detected by satellites.”
- Turkey is sliding into dictatorship – The title says it all. Written before the election. Spoiler alert: Erdogan won.
- Jerks and the Start-Ups They Ruin – UGH.
